40th birthday invitation card

V is going to celebrate her birthday and asked me to make her cards.  I was so happy!  She chose the papers from a stash I have.  She wanted to buy punches to go with the mat holding "40."  Instead, I used a free file from here  The heart, diamond and the rest of the figures were in SCAL's basic shapes.  I used mounting tape to add depth to the card.

My kid's birthday card

My daughter got the card a couple of weeks ago.  She liked and wants her whole name done in the same manner... ouch!

Anyway, here is how I did it. After the letter was formed and the strips had been glued to the background, I turned the paper over and gently pushed back the holes left by the pins so they wouldn't be noticeable once the project was over.
